We are a specialist legal costs consultancy providing advice and assistance on legal costs control, traditional costs drafting services, costs management assistance (cash flow), budgeting formulae and costs recovery.

Costsmanager was founded and is headed by Jason Harvey Osborn. Jason has worked as a Legal Costs Consultant since 1988 providing advice and assistance to the legal and business community. Jason is a Fellow of the Association of Law Costs Draftsman. He regularly lectures on the subject of legal costs.

Jason was previously employed by some of the country's leading law firms including international practice DLA Piper Rudnick Cary Gray UK LLP as their Litigation Group Costs Manager and has provided advice and assistance in wide ranging costs disputes with values of up to £20 million. Jason is a leading costs advocate in both the High and County Court and has acted as an expert assigned by the High Court of Justice on high costs and complex claims for costs.

Who We Represent

Based in Central Manchester, we act for clients across the county and provide representation in Courts throughout England and Wales.

Costsmanager provides consultancy and advice to all areas of the legal industry and business community. As well as acting for and assisting some of the most respected law firms in the county, Costsmanager represents and acts on behalf of insurers, accountants, commercial clients and financial institutions.

Costsmanager has been instructed in relation to high costs legal budgets for Solicitors and Clients and for presentation to the Court, complex claims for costs and submissions and advocacy in relation to complex issues of principle and practice.

When a dispute arises between solicitors and their clients there is potential for this to adversely affect their working relationships and damage the interests of ongoing litigation. Drawing upon our expertise of advising both solicitors and clients we are better placed to understand each position and manage the relationship.

Costsmanager has represented commercial clients in both auditing and controlling their legal costs and if necessary challenging the solicitors' fees through the Court system.
